From the Vellum project, Vellum #6 is the sixth image in an 8-image series that explores the delicate interplay between light, form, and texture through the artful manipulation of vellum paper. It's a project that highlights graceful flowing curves juxtaposed with sharp, intentional edges, creating a dynamic tension between softness and structure. Through carefully crafted compositions, Vellum transforms a simple material into a sculptural statement, celebrating abstraction's beauty through composition and craftsmanship.
Light's pivotal role in shaping each composition is at the heart of the series. As it filters through the delicate layers of vellum, subtle tonal variations emerge, forming gradients that transition seamlessly from deep, saturated tones to soft, glowing highlights. This interplay between light and material enhances the sense of depth and dimensionality, striking a delicate balance between transparency and opacity. The result is an ethereal quality—both bold and delicate, structured yet fluid—where light itself becomes an essential element of the visual experience.
Further interplay between the rigid edges and flowing curves creates a compelling dialogue between precision and spontaneity, seamlessly blending structure with fluidity. This contrast invites a reconsideration of form, revealing how vellum—a seemingly simple and utilitarian material—can take on sculptural qualities, challenging traditional perceptions of both materiality and artistic expression.
Ultimately, Vellum is a meditation on transformation—where material becomes sculpture, light shapes form, and simplicity evolves into elegance. By embracing the delicate balance between control and spontaneity, the series encourages viewers to explore the nuances of shape and illumination, proving that even the most unassuming materials can transcend their function to become works of art.
My Limited Edition prints are meticulously crafted to the highest standards, using a professional printer and professional quality papers and ink. The paper is museum-quality Hahnemühle's FineArt Baryta Satin, recognized for its exceptional detail and resistance to aging. Made of 100% α-cellulose that has been refined with a special inkjet coating for FineArt applications. This subtly textured, smooth base paper contains no optical brighteners and has a silky, smooth surface texture with a beautiful feel and a substantial weight of 300gsm that surpasses the thickness of standard prints. The satin-gloss premium inkjet coating guarantees exceptional print results with intense colors, deep blacks, and outstanding sharpness. It's an acid and lignin-free FineArt paper that meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance and produces stunning FineArt reproductions of black and white and color photographs.
To complement Hahnemühle's paper, prints are created on an Epson's SureColor P800, a professional quality printer that uses eight Epson UltraChrome HD archival inks to produce stunning images. Additionally, these archival inks ensure that your Limited Edition Fine Art print will remain fade-resistant for many decades, preserving its brilliance and beauty for future generations.
My dedication to authenticity starts with discreetly embossing my logo on the bottom right corner of the print, ensuring you are provided with a genuine Limited Edition Fine Art Print. Further, each print includes a personalized, signed, and dated certificate of authenticity with essential information such as the title, caption, print size, number in the series, captured date, and location for landscape and nature prints. Also, to further its authenticity, security hologram stickers with matching serial numbers are affixed to both the certificate and the backside of the print.
Ensuring your Limited Edition Fine Art Print is pristine and ready to frame when it reaches your hands is a top priority. Appropriately, I follow a meticulous and carefully curated process. First, to ensure each print meets my high standards, prints are created for each order, allowing me to inspect the quality for any defects. Once it passes my stringent quality inspection, I allow it to dry for 48 hours before it is prepared for shipping. Lastly, for the shipping process, I add a protective sheet of archival paper over the print before it is securely rolled and packaged in a sturdy mailing tube (larger prints) or sandwiched securely between two layers of cardboard for mailing envelopes (small prints).
For customers in the United States, including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, I am pleased to offer complimentary USPS Priority Mail Shipping for all orders exceeding $80.00 and a flat $9.99 rate for all other orders.
For my customer's convenience, I carefully selected print sizes that readily fit available in-stock frames at your local craft or frame stores. With these standard-size frames, customers will have a wide array of options to choose from, ensuring they can easily find a frame that complements the print perfectly.
Custom framing from local craft and frame stores or online retailers is another option to consider. At Local stores, whether it's for a custom order or one of their in-stock options, their knowledgeable framers can offer advice for selecting the perfect frame. However, online retailers are also a great resource, especially those with the ability to upload a digital image to compare frames with a visual representation of your new Fine Art Print.
